Resources

Below are resources I found helpful.

  • The Chopra Center – Lots and lots of good information from DeePak Chopra about meditation, Chakras, classes and more.

  • The Dalai Lama – This is the official page of His Holiness the 14th Dali Lama.
  • The Yoga Journal – A informative magazine and website stocked full of helpful articles and ideas on living a healthy life.  Take the quiz to find out which of your seven Chakra energy systems could use a little work.
  • The Pema Chodron Foundation – Pema is a beloved Buddhist Nun who shares her gifts of wisdom with the world.
  • Psychology Today– This website lists therapists according to zip code or State. The site also describes the counselors specialties, education, insurance options, and other helpful information.
  • Portland Enneagram  Dale Rhodes is the Portland, Oregon guru of the Enneagram, a system for self-understanding based on nine personality types.  He is also one hell of a marriage and personal counselor!
  • Enneagram Test – You can take the short version here to see which Enneagram type you might be.
  • Mankind Project– This program changed my husband’s life and helped save our marriage. It is a personal development organization that offers life-changing experiential training and support groups for all kinds of men. We would both highly recommend this program for ANY man who wants to live a more fulfilled and honest life.
  • The Five Languages of Love Test– A free quiz to find out what love language speaks most to you and your partner: Words of affirmation,  quality time, personal touch, receiving gifts or acts of service.  Amazingly helpful – my #1 & 2 are acts of service & quality time.  Husbands are words of affirmation and personal touch.  A real eye-opener for us.
  • Breitenbush Hot Springs Retreat Their website describes Breitenbush as a “place to bring life into balance” and I agree!  A piece of heaven located near Detroit, OR.  Natural hot springs, yoga, massage, beautiful hiking, rustic…ahhhhhh!
  • Path to Sincerity– This is David Sudar’s excellent blog about meditation, Buddhism and life.  A former Buddhist monk, David, is now based in Portland, Oregon as a meditation teacher and mindfulness coach.
  • Open Gate Meditation  – I found Wayne Lee’s blog very helpful when looking for tips on meditating.  His “7 Steps to Transcendence” are brilliant. Just reading his blog helps me relax.
  • Stafford Studios– Dawna Stafford is an amazing woman!! – She is a web designer and creative media producer, AND a musician, photographer,  as well as a fitness & diet expert.  She was a huge help in getting this blog off the ground!
